Lindens Foods - A brief History
1984 - Granville Meat Company was established.
1985 - Milltown Livestock & Meat Company was established.
1994 - Granville Meat Company was acquired by a partnership of Fane Valley Co-Op and Ulster Farmers Investments Ltd, two of the largest farmer owned commercial Organisations in Northern Ireland.
1998 - Merger between Granville and Milltown.
1998 - First company in the UK to achieve Export Approval Status under the ECHS Scheme, and the first company to Export British Beef after the 1996 world wide beef export ban.
1999 - Combined entity was renamed Linden Foods and developed a unique Corporate identity to reflect the unique ownership of shared co-operative and private investment.
2000 - Partnership agreed with Slaney Meats, Wexford, to form Slaney Foods.
2001 - Slaney Foods acquired Irish Country Meats sheep meat business.
2005 - Tasti brand launched in the NI market by Linden Foods
2006 - Investment in the boning hall, chilling capacity and retail packing expansion at Linden Foods.
2007 - Linergy - A renewable energy plant built beside Linden Foods will allow all the waste material produced to be converted into electricity in an effort by the company to control waste, reduce cost and eventually 'green' the supply chain.
2007 - Acquisition of the Coast & County meat business in North East England, giving Linden a presence in England, Northern Ireland and ROI.
